The Lord Be With You Today!
Isaiah 37: 33-34
“Therefore this is what the Lord says concerning the king of Assyria:
“He will not enter this city or shoot an arrow here.
He will not come before it with shield or build a siege ramp against it.
By the way that he came he will return; he will not enter this city,”
declares the Lord.
(Jerusalem was surrounded by the Assyrians,
a mighty army that far outnumbered the Israelites.
The city was under siege. It looked hopeless,
But, because Hezekiah king of Judah
took his people’s plight directly to the Lord,
the Lord heard his prayer and has declared
that, not only will the Assyrians not overtake the city,
they will not even be able to build the usual attack apparatus.
The enemy won’t be able to step a foot into the city proper
because the Lord is sending the enemy packing.
When we are surrounded by "Assyria," when our situation looks hopeless,
the Lord reminds us here, as we look to Him, as we seek Him,
that He will defeat the enemy.
While the enemy may surround us,
He will not permit the circumstances or people allied against us
to invade the core of our life and being whose foundations are in the Lord,
nor will He allow the enemy to build up offensive armaments so imposing
that we have no recourse against such weaponry.
The Lord Himself declares to us today that those circumstances,
those problems, those issues, have no place in the City of God,
in the son and daughter of God, that He will permit no entry
into that protected place where He Himself resides.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
