They will enter Zion with singing;
Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
(The Lord is promising His people He will rescue them
from their Babylonian exile and return them to their homeland.
That journey will be a long, extended one, through mountain and desert terrain.
In any journey of this length in that day,
the travelers' practice was to sing to help pass the time.
In their soon-to-come journey of deliverance,
their song will spring from their exuberance and joy
about being rescued, as well as their homecoming.
They will no longer even have any connection
to their former heavy-hearted sadness.
we can set out on our journey today into our Zion home in Him
with great joy and song , knowing that He has set us free.)
(Because of their deliverance and because of their journey home to their inheritance,
rather than being bound by oppression and sadness,
God's people will wear their joy like a crown of glory.
We, too, have been released from bondage and oppression.
We, too, are being led into a return to our inheritance, our promised land,
our homeland, our place of victory in Christ.
We, too, can sing during the journey we are on today
for the sheer and sure joy of release and victory the Lord has declared for us.
We, too, are crowned with the glory of the joy of the Lord
when we walk in the truth of His Word over us.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!In Christ's love,
