Those the Lord has rescued will return.
(Repeated from Isaiah 35:10, this verse reiterates the sure promise
that the Lord's purposes for His people will prevail.
If the Lord chose to include this verse a second time in His enduring Word to us,
surely it carries a significant and powerful message to us.
Just as the Lord has rescued His people previously in countless situations,
one of which was deliverance through the parted Red Sea,
so He will rescue them once again,
this time from their Babylonian exile and bondage.
Not only will the Lord rescue His people
from the consequences of their disobedience and rebellion,
He will also return them to their original inheritance.
Today, just as the Lord has rescued us time and time again,
so will He rescue us from the places in our hearts and minds where sin,
where our own foolish choices, where the world, has dominion over us.
He will also reinstate our inheritance,
even working those things together for good where we failed and fell away,
returning us to the place of victory and restoration in the "land"
where we are once again aligned with Him and His purposes for us.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!In Christ's love,
