The islands will look to Me and wait in hope for My Arm of the Lord.
(Not only will the nations of the world, the islands, look to the Lord
and His deliverance and strength and justice,
but we, too, as individuals, do the same,
also needing the strength implied in the reference to the Arm of the Lord
out of which He executes His purposes.
As we wait on the Lord, waiting in hope is not a passive, helpless state.
Rather, the original Hebrew word implies a binding and twisting together.
As we wait, we bind ourselves to the Lord, we attach ourselves to Him,
to hope in Him, to exercise our faith in Him,
to choose to believe the truth of His Word.
We twist together the two cords of both our focus on Him and our faith in Him
and interweave ourselves with His power and righteousness and justice,
knowing that He draws near to us quickly with His salvation and provision.
As we look to Him in the throes of our deep needs and desperation,
that brought about creation,
that brought about deliverance time and again for His people,
still wields authority and supremacy in our lives today.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
In Christ's love,
