The Lord Be With You Today!

Isaiah 50:4
The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue,

(Speaking of the Messiah here, Isaiah shows how the Son of Man
is a devoted disciple, a learner, subject in all His learning to His God.
Jesus "learned" from God by listening to Him, by being attuned to Him,
by devoting Himself to Him, and by living off of and from and out of
the Words and purposes of Him Who had sent Him.)

to know the word that sustains the weary.

(Jesus extends the truth from His God to the weary that He has rest for them,
that all who are heavy laden are lovingly invited into His rest.
His word that sustains the weary is encased in His invitation,
in His love, in His outreach to us today.
He calls us into His rest and refreshing, freeing us from worry and fear.)
He wakens me morning by morning,
wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.

(The Servant Himself is wakened each morning to new life in His God,
to new instruction, to new purposes, to new appointments,
to new teaching, to new outreaches.

He daily listens to the Father Who instructs Him in the way He should go.

Today, as we follow after Jesus Who serves as our role model,
we, too, are offered an instructed tongue, the opportunity to learn from Him.
We, too, are both invited into His rest and asked to reach out to the weary.
We, too, are wakened by the Lord each morning to face a new day with Him
of walking in His Presence, of hearing His still, small Voice,
of being instructed and learning about Him and His ways.)

May the Lord richly bless you this day!

In Christ's love,
