"The children born during your bereavement will yet say in your hearing,
‘This place is too small for us; give us more space to live in.’
(The children born during the bereavement of Zion,
during the time when the Zionists had been exiled
from their beloved homeland, are you and I, the Gentiles.
As God promised, He extended His salvation to the Jew first
and then to us the Gentiles.
We were first born into the Kingdom in large numbers
after the Jews refused to accept Jesus as Messiah.
Though He will still eventually bring His Jewish people into His salvation,
He even used their failure to see Him, their rejection of His Son,
to fulfill His wider purposes toward the rest of the world.
What a reminder to us today that the Lord
uses our failures and rejection of Him,
our inability to see His Hand at work right before us,
our refusal to accept what He reveals to us,
to bring about His sovereign purposes toward us.
He still promises today to provide victory in the midst of bereavement
and to make our place in this world
a place of joy and expansiveness and productivity and purpose.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
In Christ's love,
