The Lord Be With You Today!
I will put in the desert the cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.
(As the Lord leads us through the deserts of our lives,
He also becomes for us our provision and salvation.
He Himself plants Himself as the cedar tree in our lives,
a tree representing the building material of His sanctuary and mercy seat,
showing us He is our Tabernacle where we obtain mercy.
He becomes for us the acacia tree that produces a binding gum,
a shelter under which we can hide and where His grace binds us to Him.
He sets Himself as a myrtle tree, a source of refreshing fragrance
Who is worthy of praise for His harvest provision.
The olive tree is a picture of the Lord’s oil of blessing flowing over us
and His peace between us and Him, a peace that is everlasting,
and His declaration toward us of His peace in and over us.)
I will set junipers in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together,
(He becomes the juniper tree for us in the wilderness and difficult surroundings of our lives
where He shelters us from the sun and wind and sand of life’s hardships.
The fir and cypress are pictures of the Lord Who carries us through the storms of life
in the safety of His embrace, Who becomes the foundation upon which we build our lives
and the very One Whom we worship in praise.)
so that people may see and know, may consider and understand,
(As we walk through the desert and, out of our great need, are forced
to seek Him and to seek His provision for us,
as we experience His great wonders on our behalf,
the Lord uses these visual markers to help us comprehend
Who He really is in our lives.)
that the Hand of the LORD has done this,
that the Holy One of Israel has created it."
(Not only is He the Holy One of Israel,
He is the Holy One of … put your name here!
He is the Great God of the desert times,
and He plants the trees of His provision for everything we need!)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
In Christ’s love,
