The Lord Be With You Today!
Once more a remnant of the kingdom of Judah
will take root below and bear fruit above.
(Though the Israelites had been devastated by the enemy,
the Lord assures them they will emerge from that oppression
and be released from the siege they have been enduring.
He encourages them He will plant them again firmly in their own space,
a strong tree with deep roots so that the tree will produce abundant fruit.
Whether it be the roots of fears or insecurities or guilt or unforgiveness
that has grown deep into the soil of our lives,
or whether the tree of our life grows the roots
of faith and hope and love and freedom and forgiveness,
those roots will cause us to bear the accompanying fruit
as evidenced in the way we live out our lives each day.
For us today, the Lord promises us
that even when we have been besieged by difficulties and challenges
He will preserve us, and, in so doing,
our faith will grow deeper roots in Him
and that out of these hard times we will bear the fruit
of perseverance, maturity, and character.
Even in the face of daunting oppression,
our assurance is that the Lord uses the most challenging situations
to grow us into a deeper faith walk with Him.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
