The Lord Be With You Today!

Isaiah 37:21b-22a
Because you have prayed to Me concerning Sennacherib king of Assyria,
(When Hezekiah was threatened with attack from Sennacherib’s Assyrian army,
he realized the futility of even trying to fight such an overwhelming force
with the resources available to him.
Rather than yielding to the demands of Sennacherib,
rather than trying to muster his own army,
rather than trying to establish his own army’s defense against this daunting force,
rather than wringing his hands and fretting over the events before him,
rather than resenting what life had unfairly handed him,
rather than being paralyzed with fear,
Hezekiah immediately took his need to the Lord in prayer
modeling for us what we need to do when faced with difficulties.
Too often, filled with fear and dread,
we try to "handle" what comes against us in our own strength
when, instead, our greatest need is to give the entire situation to the Lord
in fervent and honest prayer.)
this is the word the Lord has spoken against him:
(The Lord is faithful to respond to Hezekiah’s prayer,
and now the Assyrians are no longer only challenging Israel,
but, instead, they now have to contend with the Lord God of Israel.
When we humble ourselves and pray about the needs before us today,
the Lord is faithful to hear our prayer and to respond to us.
His response reminds us the battle is no longer ours,
but it now becomes the Lord’s.

May the Lord richly bless you this day!

In Christ’s love,

Blessings,

Sally
