"Listen to Me, you stubborn-hearted,
you who are now far from My righteousness.
(The Lord knows us well. We are proud and arrogant and resistant to Him.
In a kind of cosmic default characteristic,
our fall-back is always to try to go our own way
and to find ways to be in control ourselves,
while, at the same time, God is always relentlessly pursuing us to reveal Himself to us.
Even in our grave ignorance, even in our rebellion,
the Lord continues to mercifully and persistently seek us out.)
I am bringing My righteousness near, it is not far away;
and My salvation will not be delayed.
I will grant salvation to Zion, My splendor to Israel."
(His grand message of hope and deliverance
is founded in His righteousness, not ours,
in His deliverance, not that which we can effect ourselves.
His salvation is both close by and ours for the immediate taking.
He makes Himself easy to be found by us.
We don't have to search Him out. He searches us out.
We don't have to wait until He grudgingly condescends to grant us His salvation.
He grants His salvation immediately and lavishly.
Even in our disobedience and flawed and failed attempts to make our own way,
the Lord seeks us out to grant us His salvation and righteousness.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
In Christ's love,
