Then you will say in your heart, ‘Who bore me these?
I was bereaved and barren; I was exiled and rejected.
Who brought these up? I was left all alone,
but these—where have they come from?'”
(With joy Zion will be amazed that she has offspring
when she thought she was forever barren.
The Lord has promised to bring into her borders, into her family,
the Gentiles to whom He has also extended His invitation of salvation,
knows she had nothing to do with bringing forth these children,
yet God has blessed her with progeny she never dreamed possible.
We, too, though barren and unproductive,
though filled with sorrow and failure,
though perhaps struggling in situations where we ourselves
can effect no possible change in outcome,
we today can experience redemption and intervention of the Lord in our lives.
He brings reward to us that we could not produce, nor could even expect.
The Lord in His great mercy and love pours reward and blessing
into our needs, into our brokenness, into our bereavement today.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
In Christ's love,
