The Lord Be With You Today!

Isaiah 51:2b
When I called him he was only one man,
(The Lord is speaking to a deeply discouraged remnant of His people
who have been exiled in Babylon, and He speaking about Abraham,
a single individual whom He had called out of a distant land
and who God had made into a great nation of many people.

He is reminding His people that He is the One
Who put His mark on an unknown man of no particular reputation or standing.
Today, even if we reside in a place in our lives
where we are burdened and heavy-laden,
the Lord is speaking directly to us, reminding us that He calls each one of us,
individually and specifically, just as He did Abraham, encouraging us to know
that even when we are in a place of exile and desperation,
He is mindful of us, reminding us of His call to, at that time,
a distant and unknown and seemingly unimportant Abraham.)
and I blessed him and made him many.

(The Lord declares that it was He Who made the difference in Abraham's life.
Until the Lord intervened, Abraham had been unable
to father a child with his beloved Sarah.
When God took over his and Sarah's life, that changed,
and the humanly impossible became magnificently and beautifully possible.
If the Lord can take a single individual, create in Him the ability to father a son,
bless him with His teaching and understanding, and make him into a great nation,
then He is able to save and redeem the few who remain of that great people
and again renew and restore them again into a people of power and impact.
He is encouraging His discouraged people to know
that He can also redeem them from their plight and rebuild His people,
both in numbers and in their faith and trust in their God.

No matter what our situation is today, the Lord is still able
to take the little faith we may have, the few resources that may be at our disposal,
the diseased and unhealed body causing us suffering,
the remains of broken relationships, and the skewed and buried attitudes
that are in conflict with His truth,
and to make out of them an Abraham miracle,
to take those small beginnings and create in us
a new man with a new identify under His covenant of love.)

May the Lord richly bless you this day!

In Christ's love,

Blessings,

Sally
