He was despised, and we held Him in low esteem.
(Isaiah's prophecy emphasizes the mob's deeply contemptible attitude
toward Jesus when they considered or looked on Him,
foretelling their rejection of the very Messiah for Whom they were waiting.
They did not value or regard Him. In fact, they considered Him nothing
and held Him in such utter contempt
that they felt He was unworthy of their concern or attention.
While we today may not physically look on Jesus in His suffering,
we still today despise and reject Him when we refuse to honor Him
by trusting Him and believing that He is Who He says He is
and that we are who He says we are in Him.
The One Who most in all the world
deserves our esteem and regard and worship
is the very One Whom we reject and despise.
When we go about our daily lives without seeking and acknowledging Him,
we treat Him with the same contempt as did the mob who crucified Him,
treating Him as if He were despicable.
Lord, help us to look to You today as Savior, Redeemer, and Messiah
and to honor You by giving back to You our very lives!)May the Lord richly bless you this day!
In Christ's love,
