The Lord Be With You Today!

Isaiah 55:12
"You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."

(The Lord announces to His people who have been in Babylonian exile,
one of the consequences of their rebellious disobedience,
that their release from their bondage is imminent,

and that their departure will be so visible and so dramatic
that all the world will see and rejoice over their release.
In contrast to their earlier exodus from Egyptian slavery,
accomplished in a hurried, overnight departure,
this part of Israel's history shows God's people
at peace at last in their joyful release
and is a picture for us of our joyful release, too,
from sin and into salvation when we ask for and accept God's forgiveness.
As the Israelites cast off and leave behind their Babylonian stay,
the Lord invites us today to cast off our old life
that was in bondage to and directed by the flesh.
Just like this picture of God's people of old,
we are released to enter into a peace and rest
of joyful expectation and celebration
as we walk into a new and godly life in Christ,
a walk filled with new adventure
and a life-long journey of growing in Him.)

May the Lord richly bless you this day!

In Christ's love,
Blessings!
