The Lord Be With You Today!
"I was enraged by their sinful greed; I punished them,
(Israel had been disobedient and unfaithful to her God,
avarice and striving for gain, being among the foremost of her sins.
God’s people had been covetous, preying on others for their own gain,
and had experienced the consequences of their sin,
the discipline of being sent into exile.
When we walk into areas of sin, no matter what it is,
the Lord has to discipline us.
As the most loving Father, out of His great love and in His mercy,
He allows us to experience the consequences of His disfavor.)
and hid My Face in anger, yet they kept on in their willful ways."
(In their sinful willfulness and disobedience,
God’s people had repeatedly turned away from His ways,
so He had withdrawn His favor toward His people,
hoping that it would help them repent and turn to Him,
to be desperate for His presence, blessings, and esteem toward them.
The Lord will not, cannot, tolerate sin.
It’s not just that the Father doesn’t like sin.
Sin can never exist in His mighty, consuming, and holy Presence.
Still today, our repeated sinful choices grieve Him,
and His holiness demands His judgment, His holy and righteous response
when we stray from His ways.
Yet, just as true, when we finally turn to Him away from our willful ways,
His anger at sin inevitably yields to His mercy and grace
as He lovingly pulls us back into relationship with Him.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
