The Lord Be With You Today!
“If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath
and from doing as you please on My holy day,
(The Lord established a Sabbath rest observance for His people,
both as a sign to them of His covenant with them
and as a sign for them of their obedience to Him.
The Lord Himself rested on the Sabbath,
not because He needed rest, but to model
the difference between work and the kind of holy rest
that He was making available to His people.
The word sabbath comes from a Hebrew word meaning intermission,
so the Lord has set a day apart as an intermission, a break for us,
from all the normal activities and routines that the other days hold.)
if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable,
and if you honor it by not going your own way
and not doing as you please or speaking idle words,
then you will find your joy in the Lord,
(If we do, in fact, take a break, stop our normal daily routines,
and honor the day the Lord has set aside,
use the time to realign ourselves with Him and His purposes
and to intentionally focus our attention on Him
instead of pursuing our own willful ways,
when we redirect our thoughts and words to those
that are centered on holy and just expressions,
when we center our heart and mind on the Lord, He rewards us!
The result with be renewed confidence and restored delight in Him.)
and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land
and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.”
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
(Always, always, when we center ourselves in Him and concentrate on Him,
as we align ourselves to His plans, He causes us to be victorious
in the land, the life, He has given to us.
His plans for us are to give us victory and to bring us
into the rich inheritance He has promised us.)
May the Lord richly bless you this day!
