The Lord Be With You Today!

Isaiah 61:1a
The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on Me,
(Speaking prophetically, Isaiah articulates
the future Messiah’s positional standing with God
and begins to verbalize Jesus’ mission statement as the perfect Servant,
obedient, faithful, submissive, and committed.
While we recognize that these Scriptures refer to Jesus,
Isaiah is also referring to himself and to you and me, as well.
Holy Spirit is also articulating our mission statement,
a mission and a calling given to us by the Lord Himself
to be His obedient and faithful servants.
Just as Christ the Son was chosen and appointed for His work,
so we also are chosen and appointed to the high office of servant
to carry out the work the Lord has given us today.)
because the Lord has anointed Me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
(The word for Messiah comes from the root word for anointed.
Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus the Anointed, Jesus the Messiah,
has been anointed, chosen, and set apart by God
to fulfill mankind’s need for atonement and salvation.
Kings of old were anointed with oil to signify their high calling
that they were chosen and set apart.
Jesus was anointed with God’s Own Holy Spirit,
and we, too, are anointed with the oil of Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives.
The Spirit of the Lord was poured into Jesus, and He was anointed
to carry out a mission from Father God.
The same is true for us. The Spirit of the Lord is on us
and He has anointed us, for a specific purpose.
The Good News of the Gospel is that Christ died to forgive our sins,
for us who are the spiritually destitute and needy,
and He calls us now to fulfill the mission He has placed before us,
to reach out to those around us who are also spiritually poor and needy
to proclaim Christ’s Good News.)

May the Lord richly bless you this day!

In Christ’s love,
Blessings!
