The Lord Be With You Today!

Isaiah 62:10
Pass through, pass through the gates!
(The gates here can refer to either leaving Babylon and the land of exile
or entering Jerusalem and the land of homecoming.
In either instance, the Lord is telling His people
to leave the place of bondage and enter into the place of freedom.
That’s our message today, to leave the place where we have been defeated
because the Lord is opening the gates of escape for us
and to enter through the open gates where we are invited
to live in the heritage of the Lord’s truths and promises.)
Prepare the way for the people.
(Not only does the Lord provide escape for us,
not only does He provide safe haven for us,
but He also directs us to and prepares the path for us both to leave
and to travel to the new place He has provided for us.)
Build up, build up the highway!
(The Lord has even promised us that the way out and the way forward
will be easy to traverse, easy to navigate
as He calls for the roadway to be repaired and built up
to make it a broad and raised highway.)
Remove the stones.
(The phrase here in the Hebrew can mean stoning
as a form of capital punishment and also removing stones from a field
and heaping them up in a pile.
Part of the meaning here is that the obstacles in the path
are to be piled into a heap and the past hindrances stoned and destroyed.
We no longer have to be held back by the difficulty of the path before us
or the obstructions that have kept us from moving into the Lord’s plans for us.)
Raise a banner for the nations.
(Just as a battalion raises a flag to signal to its warriors
to gather around and the way forward,
today the Lord calls us to draw together and to come to His side
as He leads the advance and makes the way clear for us to follow.)

May the Lord richly bless you this day!

In Christ’s love,
Blessings!
